At the conclusion of the inaugural Ultra Sevens Rugby game, the organizing committed presented Gary Tetlock and Stephen Wallis plaques in recognition of the combined work that these long time officials dedicated to modifying the laws of the game to support the introduction of Ultra Sevens Rugby.

"We needed the kind of expertise that Gary and Steve both possess to make sure that we put into place the modifications that would help us achieve our goal while also ensuring the players were not placed at risk," said Karl Fix, Ultra Sevens Rugby lead coordinator. "I know these two gentleman spent countless hours reviewing the current laws and making the recommendations that ultimately were adopted for Ultra Sevens Rugby", he added.
